After a “frustrating” year in 2006, Toyota became the first team to reveal their ’07 machine in Cologne, Germany yesterday.
Toyota is the only team to head into the new season with an unchanged driver/engine/tyre package, and hopes that this continuity will bring them success, Chairman Tsutomu Tomita said the team is aiming to win in 2007.
With immense corporate pressure coming in from Japanese paymasters, Toyota needs to pick up where they left off in 2005. They dropped off the pace in 2006, despite Toyota Motorsport President, John Howett’s claim that Toyota had the third fastest package in terms of speed. Toyota need to win in 2007.
