Teixeira and Ferrari eye up Toro Rosso

An unlikely alliance between A1 GP owner, Tony Teixeira and F1 giants Ferrari was formed recently, when Ferrari agreed to supply engines and car design consultancy for the A1 GP World Cup of Motorsport.
Rumours have been circulating that the Scuderia have been looking at increasing their influence at Toro Rosso – a team they already supply engines to – by also supplying the Faenza-based squad with a similar chassis.
This coincides with comments from the former Champcar boss that he is keen to buy into an F1 team, with Toro Rosso the most likely.
"I am looking around," Teixeira told Reuters on Thursday.
"I have been speaking to two or three different teams that are maybe available for sale. Toro Rosso are one of them," he said.
The arrangement could see a Ferrari satellite team emerge; in the same way McLaren will have Prodrive and Red Bull currently have Toro Rosso.
