BMW the team to beat: Massa
February 10th 2007 00:28
Ferrari's Felipe Massa believes that his former team, BMW-Sauber look to be the best team so far during pre-season testing.
The Brazilian has put BMW ahead of his own team and McLaren as the team to beat, based on their consistent speed.
"The McLaren definately looks quick, but the BMW is the best of all at the moment," he told Gazetta dello Sport, "They were impressice in Valencia and here as well."
"The McLaren is the quickest over a single lap," he revealed, "but BMW are impressively consistent even if they are not yet the most reliable. For now, I put them ahead of Ferrari and McLaren."
Massa also said that Ferrari are "where they expected to be" so far in pre-season testing and that any problems with the car will be easily fixed.
Next week's three day test at Barcelona will be a good benchmark for how the teams are progressing.
