Barrichello tops timesheets

Day two of testing at Barcelona finished up with a Honda and a Force India again proving the massive speed advantage given by 2009-spec slick tyres.
Rubens Barrichello set a 1min18.928 around the Circuit de Catalunya on full slicks, six tenths down on yesterday’s time set by Felipe Massa’s Ferrari on the same tyres.
Giancarlo Fisichella also bolted on some slicks to his Force India, going round in a 1min19.721, to be second quickest ahead of Massa who today was on the currently used grooved rubber.
As per the new testing regulations, teams were only allowed one driver to test per day, and the Brazilian was again on duty for Ferrari setting a best time of 1min20.283.
Massa was over a tenth quicker than championship rival Lewis Hamilton of McLaren, who was fifth fastest behind David Coulthard, who set a 1min20.392 with his slick-tyred Red Bull RB4.
Fernando Alonso completed the most laps of the day, circulating 118 in his Renault, and set the sixth fastest time along the way.
Williams’ of Nico Rosberg was seventh, Timo Glock for Toyota eighth and BMW’s Nick Heidfeld was surprising the slowest runner of the day, finishing seven tenths down on title rivals, Ferrari.
Retired seven times world champion Michael Schumacher will cameo for Ferrari tomorrow, using his extensive experience to evaluate the slick tyres.
