Alonso not quitting – manager

Fernando Alonso’s manager, Luis Garcia Abad, told newspapers yesterday that the McLaren star will not leave the team, despite recent press speculation.
Abad told El Pais that his 26-year old client had no intention of breaking his three-year contract with the Woking team.
Following a turbulent weekend at the Hungarian Grand Prix, speculation arose that Alonso wanted out of McLaren after controversial incidents with his teammate Lewis Hamilton further strained relationships.
Abad was quick to clarify certain reports that claimed McLaren boss, Ron Dennis had told his Spanish driver he was free to leave.
Abad said he met with Ron Dennis earlier in the week.
"He told me what has been published is not true. His intention is that the contract is fulfilled," said Abad.
Alonso’s manager also responded to claims made by Spanish media that he had met with Renault chief, Flavio Briatore about a possible return to the French outfit.
"We are in McLaren to win races and the third title,” he said, "That's our goal. And in these moments there aren't that many options: just McLaren and Ferrari.”
Alonso trails his rookie teammate, Hamilton, by seven points in the championship with 73 points to Hamilton’s 80.
McLaren, meanwhile, still lead the constructor’s championship by 19 points, despite being docked their Hungary point haul for both their drivers’ qualifying indiscretions.
