2008 Provisional Calendar
July 28th 2007 01:07
The FIA have released the first draft of the 2008 calendar, featuring a total of 18 races, one more than the current season.
Despite earlier reports, Melbourne retains its spot as the season opener, and France keeps its place on the calendar.
But, as expected, there will be no US Grand Prix next year, and the Canadian GP remains provisional,.
Spain gets a second race, with Valencia inheriting the European GP status, while the German GP alternates between Hockenheim, where the race will be held next year, and the Nurburgring.
The most notable change, however, is the inclusion of a fourth Asian round, with Singapore set to host F1's first ever night race two weeks before the Chinese GP.
Brazil will again host the season finale in early November.
